My Art Origin Story

My love for art started way back in the UK, when tiny-me was running a creative empire out of my mum's hairdressing salon. At around 6 years old, I was handmaking cards and bookmarks and selling them to her clients like a pint-sized entrepreneur. I LOVED making things, especially painting, and watercolour was my first obsession.

That creative spark stayed with me through my teenage years. I studied art at GCSE level and earned an A*, but then came the moment everyone hits eventually - time to grow up and get a proper job.

So off I went into the corporate world. I was encouraged to follow a more traditional career path - fair enough - and that path led me into recruitment, where I've built a rewarding 12+ year career.

But here's the thing: art never stopped being part of me.

During the pandemic, when life slowed down and the world collectively exhaled, I reconnected with my art practice in a way I hadn't in years. What started as a creative outlet quickly grew into something more intentional, more ambitious, and honestly... more me.

Today, painting gives me a sense of purpose that beautifully balances my corporate life. I'm committed to developing my practice, building a meaningful body of work, and sharing it with people who find joy in the simple, delicious things - just like I do.
